From Pain to Purpose: My Story on RTHK Channel 31 Part 1

Recently, I was interviewed by RTHK Channel 31 on the program Hong Kong United – Dual Track Life Plus: Backpack Expert (Part 1). In the interview, I shared my journey of transformation — from being an employee to becoming an entrepreneur, and how a long battle with ankylosing spondylitis during my university years changed the way I looked at life. Years of back pain made me extremely sensitive to backpack comfort.

I used to think, if there isn’t a backpack that truly eases the load and supports the body, then I’ll make one myself. With my wife’s encouragement, I decided to take that leap — to leave my old industry behind and start Maze Fathom. It hasn’t been easy, but every step has been meaningful. Every stitch and design choice carries my pursuit of comfort, functionality, and resilience. I’m grateful to RTHK for inviting me to share my story. I hope this episode can inspire others — no matter what challenges life gives you, you still have the power to redefine your path.
